You and your student already know that it’s important to get the best score possible, but neither of you know what’s even on the test, let alone how to learn it or get ready for it. The official “study guides” in the bookstore and on Amazon are 2000 pages long, and are more effective as doorstops than study guides. (Be honest, I’m a full adult and a good reader, and even I wouldn’t want to tackle a 2000 page book. What teenager knows what to do with that?!)
Who has time for a study guide that’s 4 inches thick?
Today’s students are busy trying to manage classes, sports, jobs, leadership roles, volunteering, and -oh yes- time with friends. Even if they set aside an hour to work on that study guide…where to even start?! Kids really do like to learn in short video bursts. If reliable ACT Prep were a TikTok video, they’d be all over it.
